Privacy Policy
Seraphiq is a wellbeing and emotional-regulation companion. What you share with it is intimate; this policy honestly describes what we collect, why, and the controls you have. Seraphiq is not a health app, provides no diagnosis, and does not replace professional care.
Who is responsible
Seraphiq publishes the app and acts as data controller. Contact: privacy@seraphiq.app.
What we collect
- Profile — an optional username; an email address if you create an account. Without an account, a random guest identifier is enough.
- Emotional check-ins — mood, contexts, free-text notes, routine feedback. Collected only after your explicit consent.
- Safe Space conversations — your exchanges with the companion, transcript included, kept for as long as your account exists.
- Aggregated health data (sleep, steps) — only if you connect HealthKit / Health Connect, under a separate, revocable consent. Never raw samples.
- Analytics — on by default, on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the app (PostHog, EU hosting). You can disable collection in Settings → Privacy. Collection stops immediately on this device and server analytics also stop once your choice is synced, including subscription events. If the network is unavailable, the app lets you retry.
What we never do
- Your data is never sold and never used for advertising.
- No hidden profiling, no passive sensing (microphone, location, contacts).
- No data is used to train third-party AI models.
How your data is processed
Your data is encrypted in transit and stored on our infrastructure providers' servers. Companion replies are produced by a language-model provider (OpenAI) acting as a processor: the messages needed for the conversation are sent to generate the reply and are not retained by them for training.
Your controls, right in the app
- Export — Settings → Privacy → Export: a complete, portable file (JSON), always free.
- Delete everything — Settings → Privacy → Delete everything: erasure of the application data associated with your profile, with a receipt. This does not cancel a subscription purchased through Apple or Google.
- Delete individual entries from your history.
- Separate consents for emotional data and health data; analytics collection can be disabled independently in Settings → Privacy.
Retention
Your data — including Safe Space transcripts — is kept while your account exists, and deleted from the application database when you ask for it (delete-all or account deletion). This does not yet automatically erase data held by all our processors; for requests concerning those records, contact privacy@seraphiq.app. Export (Settings → Privacy → Export) also includes your Safe Space transcripts.
Minimum age
Seraphiq is for people aged 15 and over (the digital age of consent in France).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, portability, restriction and objection. Export and deletion are available directly in the app; for anything else, write to privacy@seraphiq.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL — cnil.fr).
